Service Projects

Below are some Chicago organizations we have partnered with over the years! To stay informed about upcoming service days, subscribe to our email updates or visit our events page.

Baby Box Packing

This Spring Immanuel will partner with Heartland Human Care Services to pack Baby Boxes, filled with supplies to support newborns and postpartum women who are refugees in Chicago. The Service Day will be Saturday, May 2 at 3pm at St. Bonaventure (Immanuel’s church building, 1625 W Diversey Pkwy, Chicago IL 60614). We will also be accepting donations of baby items at church on April 12, 19, and 26 to fill the boxes. Below, view the Donation Wish List & Registry, and sign-up form!

New Life Centers: Pan de Vida Food Distribution

After immigration raids sent shockwaves through Chicago communities, Immanuel collected an Advent offering to support New Life Centers, an organization that provides wraparound support to the immigrant community in Chicago. In February 2026 a group from Immanuel served at New Life Centers’ Pan de Vida Food Distribution site.

Migrant Ministry Team

Our Migrant Ministry team was born after the building connected to our former worship space opened a city-run shelter for asylum seekers in the summer of 2023. We have held outreach events and collected donations to meet specific needs of this community. While we are no longer sharing a physical space with this community, we retain partnerships with the local alderperson and help with periodic requests such as coat drives and one-off needs.

LYDIA Home Association is a Christian, nonprofit organization that has been serving children in Chicago since 1916. Their mission is to strengthen families to care for children and to care for children when families cannot. Their programs are meant to both serve youth in care and be a blessing to their local community.

Exodus World Service mobilizes the Christian community to welcome and befriend refugees. They do this by educating churches and individuals about the plight of refugees, connecting volunteers with refugees through practical service projects, and empowering people to be champions for refugees.
